Hyrox
What is hyrox?

What constitutes a HYROX race?
In HYROX, participants run a total of 8km broken up into 1km blocks, with each kilometre followed by a different workout station that has to be completed as fast as possible. The eight demanding workout stations include everything from rowing and sled pushing to wall balls and burpees.
HYROX Training
HYROX training at CrossFit Surge focuses on building the strength and endurance needed for the HYROX race, while the HYROX race itself is the competition where athletes test their fitness across a series of running and functional workout stations. Training for HYROX involves specific workouts to improve performance in each station, including running, and the overall ability to sustain high intensity. Daily HYROX training at CrossFit Surge can involve the different elements of a HYROX race with each workout being unique combined with general strengthening and conditioning exercises.

HYROX Training vs. CrossFit
At CrossFit Surge, we are proud to offer two approaches to functional fitness, CrossFit and HYROX. Both approaches are excellent for getting in shape, improving your level of fitness, and helping you live a healthier lifestyle. Although similar in several ways, CrossFit and HYROX have their unique approach to help you achieve your fitness goals.

Membership for HYROX training is the same as membership to CrossFit Surge.
Members will have access to both training programs. A member can focus solely on HYROX or CrossFit or they may choose to combine both approaches into their fitness journey.
