What We Treat

Dizziness & Vertigo treatment in Cherry Hill & Burlington.

The room that spins for a few seconds when you roll over in bed. The grocery aisle that suddenly feels like a boat deck. Dizziness almost always has a findable cause, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Sound Familiar?

Does this sound like you?

  • The room spinning for a few seconds every time you roll over in bed
  • Getting dizzy reaching up to a high shelf or bending down to tie your shoes
  • Avoiding busy grocery aisles because the motion around you sets it off
  • A wave of unsteadiness that hits when you stand up too fast
  • Canceling plans because you never know when the next dizzy spell will hit
  • Being told your bloodwork and scans are “normal” with no answer for why you’re dizzy

Why It Happens

Dizziness is a symptom. There’s almost always a findable cause.

Most dizziness traces back to your inner ear: tiny crystals that shift out of place (BPPV), a virus that inflamed the balance nerve, or a concussion that disrupted how your eyes, ear, and brain talk to each other. Less often, it’s blood pressure or how your neck moves. Each cause has its own fix, and each feels a little different once you know what to look for.

That’s why a cause-first evaluation matters so much here. Specific positional testing, one-on-one with a licensed therapist, tells us exactly which system is misfiring, not a guess or a generic handout of “dizziness exercises.” Once we know the cause, most people get real relief fast, sometimes in the very first visit.

The Honest Truth

Waiting on dizziness doesn’t make it settle. It makes your world smaller.

If you keep waiting

  • You keep avoiding the movements that trigger it, and your body gets more sensitive to them, not less
  • You cut back on driving, working, or being out in public, just in case a spell hits
  • The undiagnosed cause keeps causing episodes, because nothing’s actually been fixed

If you start this week

  • Specific positional testing finds the actual cause of your dizziness in visit one, in most cases
  • Many people feel real relief within the very first session, especially with BPPV
  • You get a plan with an endpoint: back to your normal days, not managing around the spells

Nobody regrets starting too early. Every week, someone in our clinic says they regret waiting.

How We Fix It

The same four phases. Built for your inner ear.

Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for dizziness and vertigo.

Weeks 1–2

Pain

Find the cause, often fix it same-day.

Specific positional testing identifies exactly what’s causing your dizziness, and for BPPV, a repositioning maneuver can bring relief in the very first visit.

Weeks 2–4

Prime

Retrain your eyes, ear, and brain to agree.

Targeted vestibular exercises retrain the system so movement stops triggering that spinning, swaying feeling.

Weeks 4–6

Perform

Build back your confidence in motion.

Progressive balance and head-movement training gets you comfortable in the situations that used to set you off: aisles, traffic, crowds.

Weeks 6+

Prevent

Get back to your normal days.

A final round of real-world testing confirms you can move, turn, and go about your day without waiting for the next spell.

My elderly sister regained her balance thanks to her physical therapist at Specialized Physical Therapy. I highly recommend them.

Questions, Answered

What people ask before booking for dizziness.

That fear is completely understandable, and it’s the right question to ask. The large majority of dizziness comes from the inner ear, not the brain, and a thorough evaluation can usually tell the difference quickly. If anything about your case points toward a more serious cause, we’ll tell you directly and help you get to the right provider. You’re never left guessing.

You might feel a brief spin during the maneuver itself, that’s actually a sign it’s working. It passes quickly, and most people feel noticeably steadier within minutes of finishing. It’s a controlled, well-studied technique done one-on-one with a licensed therapist, not something you do blind on your own.

Many cases of BPPV improve in just one to three visits once the cause is found. Other causes, like post-concussion dizziness, take longer, typically running through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent, over about six weeks. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
