Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
Specialized Physical Therapy is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, or keyboard-only navigation. We believe every patient should be able to learn about our care and request an appointment without a barrier standing in the way.
Conformance Target
We are working to conform this website to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in a new tab), the technical standard referenced by both the Section 504 accessibility rule for healthcare providers and current ADA Title III guidance.
Measures We Have Taken
This site was built and audited with accessibility as a requirement, not an afterthought. Examples of what that includes:
- Semantic HTML landmarks, a skip-to-content link, and a logical heading structure on every page.
- Keyboard support throughout, including the mobile menu, the FAQ accordions, the interactive body map, and the appointment request and insurance benefits-check forms, each with visible focus indicators.
- Descriptive, individual alternative text on content images, and hidden decorative graphics so screen readers aren’t interrupted by visual flourishes.
- Form fields with real labels, clear instructions, and error messages that are announced to assistive technology, not conveyed by color alone.
- Motion and scroll animation that respects your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, and content that remains readable if a script fails to load.
- Color combinations checked against WCAG’s minimum contrast ratios.
We do not use, and will not add, an accessibility overlay widget (an auto-inserted toolbar or plugin sold as an automatic compliance fix). These tools do not reliably fix underlying code issues and can create new barriers; we address accessibility directly in how the site is built.
Ongoing Review
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We periodically re-test this site, including with automated tools and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and review new pages and features against WCAG 2.1 AA before they go live.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on this site is provided by third parties we do not control:
- Embedded YouTube videos (on our Synergy Between video series page) use YouTube’s own player interface, which has some accessibility issues in its underlying code that are outside our control. Each video is still individually titled. You can also watch any of these videos directly on YouTube.
- Live Google review widget and embedded Google Maps are supplied by third-party services; if either does not load or is not fully accessible in your assistive technology, our address, phone number, and a direct link to our Google Business Profile are always available in the page text as an alternative.
- Our Notice of Privacy Practices (linked in the site footer) is a PDF that is in the process of being reviewed for full accessibility tagging. If you need it in an accessible format, please contact us using the information below and we will get it to you right away.
Feedback
If you have trouble accessing any part of this website, or need information in an alternative format, please let us know. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
